Royal Dux porcelain Majolica flamingo

Royal Dux porcelain majolica flamingo. Dated 1867-1898,Modelled and signed by ALois Hampel chief sculpture for 55 years at the Royal Dux factory. This piece is of a pink flamingo resting against some bamboo cane. The majolica glaze brings out the colours in this fantastic sculpture. This piece was manufactured just before the golden age of the Royal Dux Porcelain factory, with itís master modeller Alois Hampel producing innovating designs in the Art Nouveau and Vienna styles. At the 1904 World Exhibition in St. Louis the factory was awarded the Grand Prix prize, and in 1906 they were awarded the Gold medal prize in the exhibition at Liberec, and a Silver medal prize at the Milan exhibition. There has been a repair to the bottom which cannot be seen from the external. A large free standing sculpture in very good condition. size height 930mm (36") base width 330mm (13") -WEIGHT 8KG-
